Hd STB on CRT?

Guys, I just want to know whether videocon hd set top box will work with CRT tv. I have a 20 inch LG CRT. and also whether PQ will suffer in sd channels?
Since the current Annual packages of videocon is same for both sd stb and hd stb, that's why i am thinking of getting hd stb. and also it will be more future proof. Maybe in next few months i get lcd, then i dont have to buy hd stb.
