Hindi GEC slot analysis for week ended 7 June

MUMBAI: TelevisionPost.com presents you with an analysis of the different programming slots of Hindi general entertainment channels (GECs), as per TAM data (sourced from subscribers) for the Hindi-speaking markets for the week ended 7 June.

Fiction shows

Mon–Fri 6 pm: The original airing of ‘Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon’ on Star Plus saw an increase in average viewership to 3.0 million TVM (television viewership in millions), compared to an average of 2.8 million TVM in the trailing week.

Mon–Fri 6:30 pm: Both ‘Ek Ghar Banaunga’ on Star Plus and ‘Pavitra Rishta’ on Zee saw a slight increase in their average. While ‘Ek Ghar…’ increased to 2.6 million (from 2.4 million), ‘Pavitra Rishta’ averaged at 1.9 million (last week 1.8 million).

Mon–Fri 7 pm: While slot leader, Star Plus’ ‘Saathiya’ jumped to 7.7 million, from 6.9 million in the previous week, Zee TV’s ‘Ek Mutthi Aasmaan’ dropped to 2.7 million (from 2.9 million in the previous week). Life OK launched a new show ‘Baawre’, which managed 0.6 million in its debut week at 7 pm.

Mon–Fri 7:30 pm: Star Plus’ ‘Saraswatichandra’ saw a marginal increase to 4.1 million (from 4.0 million in the previous week), Colors’ ‘Sasural Simar Ka’ jumped to 4.0 million (from 3.4 million). ‘Sapne Suhane’ (Zee TV) dropped to 3.4 million (3.8 million last week), while ‘Gustakh Dil’ (Life OK) increased to 2.5 million from 2.1 million.

Mon–Fri 8 pm: Zee TV’s ‘Jodha Akbar’ dropped but held on to its slot leadership with an average of 7.9 million (from 8.0 million). Colors’ ‘Balika Vadhu’ increased to 4.2 million (from 3.6 million), while Star Plus’ ‘Ek Haseena Thee’ averaged at 3.7 million (3.8 million in last week). ‘Baal Veer’ on SAB maintained an average of 2.2 million, followed by ‘Mahadev’ on Life OK with 1.9 million (1.7 million last week) and Sony Entertainment Television’s (SET) ‘Main Na Bhulungi’ with 0.8 million (same as last week).

Mon–Fri 8:30 pm: ‘Mahabharat’ on Star Plus increased to 6.0 million (from 5.5 million), maintaining its slot leadership. SAB’s flagship show ‘Tarak Mehta’ was second with 5.9 million, up from 5.4 million. ‘Do Dil Bandhe Ek Dori Se’ on Zee TV averaged at 4.3 million (down from 4.8 million), while ‘Madhubala’ on Colors increased to 2.7 million, up from 2.5 million. Life OK’s ‘Ek Boond Ishq’ increased to 2.4 million (from 2.1 million) and SET’s ‘Ek Nayi Pehchan’ averaged at 1.2 million (from 1.1 million).

Mon–Fri 9:00 pm: ‘Diya Aur Bati Hum’ on Star Plus jumped to 9.6 million (from 8.7 million) and comfortably maintained its slot leadership. Colors’ ‘Beintehaa’ increased to 3.3 million (from 2.9 million), while Zee TV’s ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ averaged at 3.2 million (from 3.3 million). SAB’s ‘Chidiya Ghar’ maintained its previous week’s average of 2.2 million, whereas Life OK’s ‘Nadaan Parinde’ grew to 1.6 million from 1.5 million.

Mon–Fri 9:30 pm: Almost all the shows saw increase in viewership in this slot. While slot leader Star Plus’ ‘Yeh Rishta’ averaged at 6.4 million, up from 6.3 million, Zee TV’s ‘Qubool Hai’ increased to 3.9 million (from 3.6 million). Colors’ ‘Rangrasiya’ and Life OK’s ‘Tumhari Pakhi’ jumped to 3.0 million and 2.6 million respectively. In the previous week, both had clocked 2.4 million. ‘Jeanie Aur Juju’ on SAB TV maintained an average of 1.3 million.

Mon–Fri 10 pm: Another slot where all the shows saw increase in viewership. ‘Pyar Ka Dard Hai’ (Star Plus), the slot leader, averaged at 5.3 million (from 5.2 million). Zee TV’s ‘Aur Pyar Ho Gaya’ averaged at 3.6 million (from 3.3 million), while Colors’ ‘Uttaran’ jumped to 3.4 million (from 3.1 million). SET’s ‘Maharana Pratap’ maintained its average of 3.1 million, while the average of ‘Lapataganj’ on SAB increased to 1.5 million from 1.4 million. Life OK’s ‘Baawre’, in its second slot at 10 pm, got 1.3 million.

Mon–Fri 10:30 pm: Except for SET, all channels saw increase in their respective shows’ viewership in this slot. ‘Veera’ on Star Plus jumped to 5.8 million (from 5.5 million), holding on to its slot leadership. Zee TV’s ‘Doli Armano Ki’ averaged at 3.5 million (from 3.1 million). Colors’ ‘Bani’ averaged at 2.5 million (from 2.4 million), while ‘FIR’ on SAB averaged at 1.6 million (from 1.3 million). ‘Bade Acche Lagte Hain’ on SET averaged at 1.2 million (from 1.3 million).

Mon–Fri 11 pm: Star Plus’ ‘Ye Hai Mohabbatein’ increased to 6.6 million, up from 6.1 million.

Weekend/ Non-fiction shows

Colors: ‘Mission Sapne’ (Sun 8 pm) felt the impact of IPL finale on 1 June and dropped to 1.5 million (from 2.4 million in the previous week). ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa – Grand Premier Night’ (Sat 9 pm) opened with 5.3 million. ‘Comedy Nights with Kapil’ (Sun–Sat 10 pm) averaged at 4.4 million (from 5.2 million). While the show didn’t air on Saturday, the Sunday episode clocked 4.4 million.

SET: ‘Entertainment Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega’ at Mon–Thu 9 pm increased to 2.4 million (from 2.1 million), while ‘Adaalat’ (Sun, Fri & Sat 7:30 pm) averaged at 1.2 million (from 1.3 million). ‘Encounter’ (Sun, Fri & Sat 9 pm) averaged at 1.3 million, up from 1.1 million. ‘CID’ (Sun, Fri & Sat 10 pm) saw an increase at 3.7 million (from 3.1 million). ‘Crime Patrol’ (Sun, Fri & Sat 11 pm) also jumped to 2.4 million from 1.9 million.

Zee TV: ‘Gangs of Hansipur’ (Sat–Sun 8 pm) dropped to 1.1 million, compared to 1.4 million in the previous week. ‘DID Little Masters 3’ (Sat–Sun 9:00 pm) also dropped to 3.2 million (from 3.4 million). ‘Fear Files’ (Sat–Sun 10:30 pm) slumped to 1.6 million (from 2.1 million), while ‘Buddha’ (Sun 11:30 am) remained constant at 0.7 million.

Life OK: The fantasy series ‘Hatim’ (Sun 8 pm) dropped to 1.9 million (from 2.1 million). ‘Shapath’ (Sat–Sun 9 PM) dropped to 2.7 million (from 2.8 million in the previous week). ‘Savdhaan India’ (Sat–Sun 10 PM) clocked 2.7 million, compared to 2.6 million in the trailing week.

bro it was less at november- december 2013 show was crossed 6.5 million and at that time it was leader in 8:30 PM slot :ohya:)

It is a very popular show that even Big Bollywood Actors come in this show to promote their upcoming films.

Abhishek Bachchan,John Abraham,Ranbir Kapoor,Boman Irani,Sharman Joshi,Rohit Shetty,SRK,Big B,Ajay Devgan,Sajid Khan,Salman Khan,Varun Dhawan,Priyanka Chopra,Hrithik Roshan,Dharmendra and more have come in this show to promote their shows
 
Infact while launching this show, the producers wouldnt have thought, that it ll be such a hit... otherwise they wudn t have come up wid such a weird name.. " .....ooltah chashmah" :D :P
