Hindi movie channels to dish out old movies this week
MUMBAI: It seems like a week of recycling for Hindi movie channels as viewers will be treated to old movies from the ’70s–’90s featuring a mix of comedy, action and romance.
Max will showcase a mixture of all the three genres, with comparatively newer movies like ‘Aashiqui 2’, ‘Kya Super Kool Hai Hum’, ‘Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic’ and more. The line-up is also sprinkled with the ‘Dhoom’ series (1 and 2) airing on 21 December at 7 pm and 9 pm respectively. Sunday is lined up with movies by three superstars—Shah Rukh Khan (‘Chak De India’ at 10:30 am), Hrithik Roshan (‘Krrish’ at 5:30 pm) and Rajinikanth (‘Robot’ at 9 pm).
Star Gold will dish out action flicks in the form of ‘Khiladi 420’, ‘Dilwale’, ‘Diljale’, ‘Soldier’ and ‘Gangajal’ to spruce up the week. For viewers looking for light-hearted entertainment, the channel will present newer comedy flicks such as ‘Action Replay’, ‘Ek Aur Ek Gyarah’, ‘Hungama’, ‘Jolly LLB’, ‘Partner’, etc.
Star Gold’s sister channel Movies OK will focus on the family this week with newer dramas like ‘Kya Kehna’, ‘Housefull’, ‘Om Shanti Om’, ‘Ye Tera Ghar Ye Mera Ghar’, ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’, ‘Shootout at Lokhandwala’ and ‘Chup Chup Ke’.
This week Zee Cinema is focusing on the action genre, but the line-up features a lot of repeats.
‘Shaan’ will air on 18 December at 11:20 am, with a repeat on 20 December early morning. Other not-so-popular films like ‘Jungle – the Battleground’, ‘Dalaal’, and ‘Kasam Paida Karne Vale Ki’ will also be on the loop throughout the week.
Weekends will be the only respite with the latest ‘Chennai Express’ airing on Saturday, 21 December, at 9 pm, with a repeat again on Sunday, 22 December, in the same time band.
Zee Cinema’s younger sibling &pictures will take the same path with a mix of action and romantic flicks on the loop this week. ‘36 China Town’ will air on 18 December at 11:45 am, with a re-run early morning the next day. Likewise, ‘Badhaai Ho Badhaai’ will dominate the weekends, ‘Agent Vinod’ airs on 18 and 21 December, ‘Namastey London’ on 19 and 20 December.
