[History TV18] Aspect Ratio Change Request

First a big thanks to our new member "Bajirao Singham" for providing so much valuable and true information about Tata Sky channel addition. I appreciate it a lot.

I just wanted to make a request to all Tata Sky officials! Can you guys please change History TV18 aspect ratio to 16:9? Currently it looks weird on LCD and other modern TV.

If Tata Sky had HD feed of History TV18, I didnt have any problem because I would have been enjoying HD feed in my LCD TV but currently I'm forced to watch SD feed in 4:3 aspect ratio.

Everytime I switch to History TV18, I have to change the view mode of my LCD TV to Zoom so that the channel looks fine in my TV.

Recently Tata Sky changed aspect ratio of Movies NOW channel to 16:9 so why not do the same with History TV 18?

Recently Tata Sky launched MTunes in SD and its also showing in a good aspect ratio. It doesn't look weird.

There is only one channel "History TV18" which is not showing in 16:9 aspect ratio. Now-a-days most of the people have LCD or LED TV so it would be a good decision to show such SD channels in 16:9 aspect ratio.

Please change it for better viewing experience.

PS: Airtel Digital TV STB has an extra option in User settings to change SD screen type to something (I cant remember the exact option name) which is not available in Tata Sky. This option once applied, make HD channel's SD feed in 16:9 aspect ration instead of 4:3. I have checked it for HBO Defined and HBO Hits channels in ADTV. It would be better if Tata Sky provides the same option via a new update as both companies use same software for their STBs.

PS2: Dish TV shows all SD feeds of HD channels in 16:9 aspect ratio already.

@Windows-fan your feedback has been taken regarding History tv-18 16:9 ratio for regarding this news i have talk with both our ceo and tech team..they said me that they will change the aspect ratio of HT18 channel..when they will migrate the channel from mpeg2 to mpeg4 and the migration of HT18 is going to be done on dec..so bro pls wait for some more days..

It looks same as Movies NOW, Al Jageera, Food Food, Fashion TV channels. Now-a-days most of the people have LCD or LED TVs, so it would be a wise idea to change the aspect ratio to 16:9.

16:9 sd channels still looks squeezed 4:3 with ideal Pillar Box 16:9/4:3 settings on. set top box need to recognize 16:9 channels as widescreen not 4:3.

Yes, If STB recognises the aspect ration of the channel properly & also if it can set PB/LB settings then it will look good on any TV.
