ETV News Network CEO Jadish Chandra has put in his papers. The network, which owns and operates a slew of regional news channels, is owned by Mukesh Ambani-controlled TV18.

Chandra is tipped to join Zee Media Corporation Ltd (ZMCL) as CEO of regional channels, said an industry source.

“Jagdish Chandra has resigned today. He will be joining Zee Media as CEO of regional news channels,” the source said on condition of anonymity.

Chandra, who was a senior IAS officer of the Rajasthan government, had taken voluntary retirement to join ETV News Network in September 2008. ETV News Network was then under Ramoji Rao-promoted Eenadu Television. It was acquired by Network18 in 2012. Ambani had taken control of Network18 in 2014.

The News18-branded channels include News18 Tamil Nadu, News18 Assam/North East and News18 Kerala.

Rahul Joshi is the group CEO news and editor-in-chief of Network18. Rajesh Raina is the group editor of ETV News Network.

Zee Media Corporation runs a cluster of news, current affairs and regional news channels, which include Zee News, Zee Business, India 24×7, WION, Zee Punjab Haryana Himachal, Zee Madhya Pradesh Chhattisgarh, Zee 24 Taas, 24 Ghanta, Zee Kalinga News, Zee Purvaiya and Zee Rajasthan News.
