At one side people asking more HD channels

On other who don't have HD stb, asking SD version of same channels.

So what people want?

More HD channel in India or more SD channels.

Broadcaster,mso and DTH can't afford to run 2 channels for every channels.

And those who are getting m tunes SD are really not enjoying channel,

Watch same songs on other music channel like mix, 9xm,mastii, m TV .

Why m tunes SD require?

A little correction. In India there are now more than 20 million HD-ready homes, yet only 2 - 2.5 million STBs have been rolled out across the country. Total DTH subscribers is 55 million. So HD subscribers is 4 %. So SD subscribers is 96%.

In future people will ask for 3D version of that same channel along with SD , HD as they will have 3D TV. So demand will never end.

Bro 10 years back no one heard about HD. These smart TV was something like dream. Then came LCD but that was to pricy. So we thought HD would never become mainstream. But see now LCD price almost in reach of common people. They can buy & watch HD content. But still HD is not getting popular now as many people have old CRT and they simply don't want to buy new TV as CRT is working just fine. But I am sure once these CRT stop working they will look towards LCD. So wait 10 more years 3D will be in mainstream because technology never stands still. Who knows may be in future(after 50 or 60 years) we don't need TV any more because of Google glass or something similar or may be Holographic projection technology shown in some science fiction movies like Iron man or I Robot. :tup
