After Siya Ke Ram on Star Plus, Madirakshi Mundle will return on TV with Sony’s new show Saajan. The love story, which is packed with action has her paired with Vishal Vashishtha last seen on &TV’s Gangaa and Ek Veer Ki Ardaas Veera. The show is currently been shot in Sangrur in Punjab and is produced by Rashmi Sharma Telefilms. It will also star Yash Tonk and Rinku Karmarkar along with other actors. Sony TV is all set to expand its early prime time band and Saajan will take the 7 PM slot. Incidentally, Rashmi Sharma’s show Silsila Pyaar Ka was also called Sajaan earlier. After Saath Nibhana Saathiya on Star Plus and Sasural Simar Ka on Colors this is Rashmi’s attempt to rejuvenate Sony TV’s family drama quotient.
Madirakshi hails from Pune and started her career with South Indian films. She made her TV debut with Siya Ke Ram where she played the lead character of Sita. Since she made her debut with a mythological character most people have not seen her real avatar. She has typical Indian looks and a cheerful personality which could be seen in Siya Ke Ram. In Saajan, Madirakshi will play a Punjabi girl dressed in phulkari salwaar kameez and will be seen mostly in Indian wear. She was chosen by the channel because they wanted a desi looking girl and Madirakshi with her doe eyes fitted the bill.
Joining Madikarshi is Vishal Vashishtha, who will be once again seen in a character similar to Veera’s Baldev. He played the rustic and rough village guy to perfection on that show. However, his character is not as aggressive as Baldev’s. After Veer Ki Ardaas Veera got over, Vishal could not recreate the magic with Gangaa. Recently, his character was bumped off from the show.
Sajaan will see the unique pairing of Madirakshi and Vishal. Yash Tonk will also be seen on a daily TV soap after a long time. After Yeh Vaada Raha, Rinku Dhawan Karamarkar will be seen playing another negative role of a Punjabi woman. Hope like Saath Nibhana Saathiya , Shakti Astitva Ke Ahsaas Ki and Sauraal Simar Ka…Rashmi’s Midas touch works well for Sony as well.
