Makers of Tamil film ''Aadukalam'', which won as many as six national awards, called on Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa and sought her blessings.
Actor Danush, who played the lead role in the film and won the Best Actor Award, met the Chief Minister along with Director Vettrimaran, Producer Kathiresan and Editor Kishore at the Secretariat here.

Actor Danush, flew down from Singapore where his father-in-law and superstar Rajinikanth was undergoing treatment for kidney ailment, to meet the Chief Minister and get her blessings.

Talking to newspersons, Danush said the Chief Minister congratulated him for winning the best actor award and others for the film winning six national awards.

''I have come down from Singapore to meet the Chief Minister and seek her blessings,'' Danush said adding the Chief Minister enquired about the health condition of the superstar and details of treatment being given.

This year, Tamil films won 14 National Awards. 'Aadukalam' won six awards with Danush bagging the prestigious Best Actor Award with Malyalam Actor Salim Kumar for his heartwarming performance in 'Aadukalam.'
