Don't think it will be a continuation of the web series. Looks more like it will run in parallel as a movie format of the Mirzapur franchise. For people who don't want to watch a lengthy series and can probably watch the story as a two part Movie like Gangs of Wasepur.
The converse is happening with the Harry Potter franchise. After the success of the Movies it's being adapted into a Tv series for people who prefer a complete adaptation of the books rather than scenes being skipped due to time constraints of the Movie format.

Then they could've released it this year as well. Why 2026? Unless they are planning to reshoot the entire thing.

But why would they shoot the whole thing bro as series is ott and most of mirzapur know the really story unless they want to change some plot as vikrant is not in the trailer

Exactly my point. They could've just released it now itself. Why wait for 2 years?
