Mohanlal to spearhead Star’s ‘Satyamev Jayate’ in South
MUMBAI: Star Plus is back with the second season of its ambitious show ‘Satyamev Jayate’, which commences on 2 March, with actor Aamir Khan as host. Now, after Khan, superstar Mohanlal has joined the bandwagon and will endorse the show in the South. Mohanlal will be the brand ambassador for the show in the South.
His association is aimed at helping leverage the show and reach out to a larger audience segment in south India. Mohanlal is slated to endorse and shoot a set of exclusive promos for the show. Star India CEO Uday Shankar said, “The issues raised by ‘Satyamev Jayate’ are of national importance. With this in mind, we are delighted to have Mohanlal on board for ‘Satyamev Jayate’ this season.
His iconic association with the show will help garner greater support for the cause of the show and reach out to a larger audience base across the country.” The issues addressed through the show concern and impact every Indian whether they are from Mumbai, Delhi, Cochin or Chennai and Mohanlal will drive home this significant thought. Through his association, the actor will communicate the need to come together as a nation and support ‘Satyamev Jayate’ to raise, discuss and find solutions to the problems that plague India and its people.
As reported by TelevisionPost.com earlier, the new season of ‘Satyamev Jayate’ will air at 11 am on Star Plus, Star Pravah, Star Vijay, Asianet, Star Utsav and DD, with a deferred telecast at 1 pm on ETV. Airtel is back on board as the title sponsor, while Axis Bank is the powered-by sponsor and Reliance Foundation is the philanthropic partner for the show.
