MUMBAI: The Broadcaster Creative Abby awards, announced during the annual Goafest, saw Multi Screen Media, Viacom18 and Disney India (including UTV Entertainment) winning six metals each.
The three broadcast networks pocketed four golds each. MSM’s final tally also included two silvers, while Viacom18 and Disney India each had one silver and one bronze in their kitties. MSM got gold Abbys for best TV reality show promo for ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ (Sony Entertainment Television, the ‘Old Man’ campaign); best comedy show promo for ‘Tarak Mehta Ka Oolta Chashma’ (SAB, ‘Digital divide, Sab unite’); best sports channel promo (Sony Six, ‘CTL 2014′); and best movie channel promo for ‘Pix School of Bonding’.
For MSM, silvers came from its mother campaign in the category of best TV fiction promo and for best original music score for ‘Tarak Mehta Ka Oolta Chashma’.
For Viacom18, its flagship brand Colors got all four golds and one bronze for ‘Bigg Boss 8’ (Best launch of a TV programme using multi-media), ‘Udaan’ (‘Udaan Haveli 35 sec’ campaign, best TV fiction promo), ‘Udaan’ launch campaign (best launch of TV programme using multi-media), and for ‘Code Red’ the launch campaign (best TV programme for cause-related marketing).
Colors also won one bronze for their 30-secomd campaign ‘Udaan Varan Mala’. Viacom18’s kids channel Nickelodeon won a silver for ‘Be the Boss’ campaign. Disney India got two gold Abbys for Bindass Play, one for best launch of TV channel campaign.
UTV Action’s ‘Star Wars’ generic promo and Bindass’ ‘B for Change’ campaigns also won gold Abbys. For the launch of ‘Kabhi Aise Geet Gaya Karo’ on Disney Channel, the company got a silver for best use of multi-media for launch and a bronze metal under the best TV fiction promo category.
