In 2015 Ekta Kapoor joined hands with Marinating films to launch Box Cricket League. Last year’s TRPs were nothing to write home about, an on-air slot of 4:30pm did not help.
Popular actors like Divyanka Tripathi, Shaheer Sheikh, Anita Hassanandani, Karan Patel, Shabbir Ahluwalia, Aly Goni, Erica Fernandes, Kamya Punjabi, Kishwer Merchantt, Karan Wahi, Rithvik Dhanjani, Ssharad Malhotra, Sara Khan and others were seen playing India’s favourite sport.
The show was supposed to make a comeback this year in March but due to some sponsor issues and creative disputes, the on-air date was shifted to May. Box Cricket league had to be rescheduled one more time for August and now we hear that the show is finally going on-air, but in January 2018 and this time not on Colors.
The makers were struggling to obtain a slot on Colors for a few months. However, since that didn’t work out, after much wait and deliberation they decided to approach SAB TV.
