NASA has announced that it’s launching a new 4K television channel in November that will stream ultra-high definition (UHD) footage from the International Space Station and other missions.

Teaming up with Harmonic, a company that specializes in video delivery infrastructure, NASA says it will be the first “non-commercial consumer ultra-high definition channel in North America.”

As well as streaming content from current missions in UHD, footage from historical missions will be remastered too.

So, if you’re keen to see what’s going on out there, Harmonic is in talks with TV providers to broadcast the channel via cable and satellite networks or you can catch it on the Web if you have a 13 Mbps connection or higher.
