MUMBAI: National Geographic Channel is set to launch a documentary style reality show on the Nissan GT Academy to enable video gamers to graduate to professional racing drivers.
The show will launch on 29 March and will air at 6 pm every Sunday.
Created jointly by Nissan and Sony Playstation, Nissan GT Academy will demonstrate the fastest way to turn motorsports fans’ dreams into reality.
Nissan GT Academy will combine challenges at the Silverstone circuit with F1 and racing icons like Johnny Herbert and Karun Chandhok. Produced by M2M, Grand Central and Miditech, the 4-part documentary will see 5000 gamers across India in the first episode, of which 28 will make it to the national finals in Jaipur.
Five gamers will represent India at Silverstone, the international race camp for Nissan GT Academy. Eventually, only four will reach the next level, while one returns home.
The following episodes will test the participants on key driving skills of control, precision and timing
