News channels have approached the Information and Broadcasting Ministry to resolve the issue over the coverage of the upcoming F1 Grand Prix in Delhi.
As part of its global policy, the Formula One Management (FOM) does not share race feed with news channels.
Sources said the I&B Ministry has asked the news channels to sort out the issue with FOM on their own.
"Some representatives of news channels meet I&B officials over the coverage issue of F1. The Ministry has asked us to sort out the issue with the FOM," the head of a news broadcasting company said on condition of anonymity.
News channels are expected to have a meeting amongst themselves on Thursday. "We are going to decide on what common stand we can take," the executive added.
F1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone is expected to arrive in Delhi on Thursday.
ESPN Star Sports has the broadcast rights of F1. The event will air live on Star Sports.
News channels have earlier had issues over events like the Indian Premier League (IPL) but it was always over the amount of content they could show.
