MUMBAI: Post cricket World Cup fever, news channels are gearing up for the Indian Premier League (IPL) season 8 commencing on 8 April.
ITV Network’s NewsX and India News will showcase the ‘Summer Storm-IPL Season 8′ and ‘Run Jhamajham’ respectively for live updates on the matches.
For 44 straight days, there will be special segments on IPL.
They will appear twice a day, at 6:30 pm and 11:30 pm on NewsX and 12:30 pm and 6:30 pm on India News.
NewsX editor-in-chief Rahul Shivshankar said, “IPL is a perfect blend of cricket and entertainment, which is getting bigger and better with each passing year.
We at NewsX will leave no stone unturned to add spark to the thrill and chill of this cricketing carnival ensuring the viewers get the best of IPL coverage.” India News editor-in-chief Deepak Chaurasia said, “India is a cricket crazy nation.
Putting the cricket loving viewers at the centre stage, our IPL programming ‘Run Jhamajham’ promises to give the viewers a 360 degree view of this mega cricketing event.”
In an exclusive partnership with Wisden India Impact Index, the channels will bring to the viewers an insightful review of each match on and off the field.
The analysis by Wisden experts, coupled with Wisden India’s exclusive tool Impact Index, aims to give the viewers a perfect cricket viewing experience.
The channels will also incorporate special graphics to make the screen look more appealing.
