Hello,

I have a Tata Sky dish and their dual port LNB. I want to move from Tata Sky to Airtel, and use the existing dish/LB/wiring. Airtel wants to sell the full package (~1500 rupees) instead of Set top box alone.

How do i get just the set top box?

Thanks

if you need just STB then go to local dealer or try Olx

Ah i see. Does the smartcard come with the STB?

And how will i get the STB registered in my name to make online payments?

Smartcard is inbuilt in STB. Dealer will register your phone no & gives customer id.

Using registered ph. no login to Airtel app your DTH account will be available. So, you can make online payments

Yup there is some bundled packages with Stb only scheme available. it is described as ' NON ODU" in which airtel mainly target other competitive ops's customer

It's a Worhfull deal if you want really to change your existing DTH operator

I was able to get a stb from customer care, and was surprised to see there is no card required. I was given an HEVC box.

If i want to see the box to somebody else how will recharge the box. It sounds like a downside of cardless boxes.

Is smart card not required for any of Airtels boxes?
