MUMBAI: Former Star India EVP, and Channel [V] and Star Pravah business head Prem Kamath, who had put in his papers earlier in June, will be joining A+E Networks Asia as deputy managing director, Asia Pacific.
Kamath is relocating to Singapore and will take on the mantle in August.
TelevisionPost.c om was the first to report that Kamath had stepped down from Star India just after completing seven years at the company.
A+E Networks operates and distributes its portfolio in Singapore, Malaysia, Brunei, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Cambodia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Macau, Papua New Guinea, Myanmar, Laos, Vietnam, Palau and Thailand.
The brands under A+E Networks Asia include Lifetime, History, H2, and Crime & Investigation Network. It also manages the broadcast of History HD in Korea.
In India, A+E Networks has a tie-up with Network18, under which it operates History TV18, a factual entertainment channel.
Kamath had joined Star India in May 2007 as VP of marketing.
