MK Anand, MD & CEO, Times Network, is all set to launch the real-estate channel Property Now at the ongoing Big 5 Construct India 2015 today
Times Network will be formally announcing the launch of its real-estate channel Property Now at the ongoing Big 5 Construct India 2015 today.

MK Anand, MD & CEO, Times Network, is all set to make the announcement in Mumbai. The news was first reported by exchange4media in July. Property Now will be the second business channel in the network after ET Now.

There has been speculation for a while now on Times Network launching a real estate channel. In April this year we asked M.K. Anand, MD & CEO, Times Network about this and he had not denied his interest in launching a pure real estate business channel. “It is not just real estate honestly; we believe that ET Now has to expand to stay relevant and bigger in a very narrow market. We are not a business news channel which has other interests and other revenue models if I may say so. So Luxury, Auto, Real Estate, etc. the whole space that ET Panache is in is what I am interested in. I am tinkering with the possibility of can you look at those 3-4 channels. This would be using ET Now factory which has the resources already there. Beyond the markets, can this system generate 3 or 4 other children and this is a strategy or thought which can eventually as a cluster be more viable,” he had said in an earlier interview with exchange4media.

property now looks to target rs-3000 crore real estate ad market to launch in october

Faye D’Souza to be the Editor of Property Now

Times Network announced the launched of Property Now at the Big 5 Construction India conference today. Although a date for the launch has not yet been finalised the channel is expected to be out sometime in October this year. The content of the channel will be a mix of news and feature programs regarding everything regarding the real estate world as well as things related to the space.

Speaking on this M.K. Anand, MD & CEO, Times Network said, “The real estate industry is a lot more important than what it is perceived to be. As a media person and a consumer we will always be quite surprised at the level of which the real estate industry, construction industry and building industry has not been projected to the level at which it has been performing. 60% of all Indian investors go into real estate and only about 5-10% goes to the stock market but covering the stock markets are 4 TV channels, 3 or 4 major national newspaper and the real estate sector somehow does not much of a representation.”

Faye D’Souza who will be the Editor for Property Now said, “It is undeniable that the need for housing in India is a $2 trillion problem and has now got the central governments attention. According to a recent research India will need over an 11 crore homes. It is the media’s responsibility to provide the industry with the platform for the housing industry.”

“Considering that we already had the infrastructure to deliver ET Now in terms of the people, research, equipment, background, understanding and the brand, I thought it was a natural extension of that factory. Faye internally was a very good resource and had a good connect with the real estate industry. The fact that after all this over 10 times the investments normal people do go into real estate,” he said.

He further added that there will be about 2 and half hours of original content plus an hour and half of syndicated content. Faye will report to Arnab Goswami, President of News and Editor-in-Chief, Times Now and ET Now. Property Now will also be having a few brands on board as launch partners, however Anand did not reveal the brands currently. He said 50-60% of the annual revenue for the channel has come in and looks for the channel to break even within a year. “I hope to launch the channel with all my targets met,” he said. He further said the real estate market was a Rs.3000 crore ad market. They will also look to launch an app for the channel by December.

RE: "Property now "Times network to formally announce real-estate channel today

This is all a conspiracy between d builders and the channel.

The builders will give black money to d chnl, to have their property campaign on TV, and the anchors wud speak gud/positive abt that property. :s

Times Network is set to launch a 24 X 7 real estate
channel Property Now, starting October, 2015.property channel launching in October to
complement business news channel ET Now.
Property Now is most likely to launch after Shradh,

English and Hindi mix feed

The channel will be mainly in English with some sprinkling of Hindi. “It will be in a language that the corporate understands so it will have English with a mix of Hindi,” said Anand.
The to-be launched channel will have multiple feeds and will thus be able to rope in different advertisers for different Regions.

“We already have the infrastructure ready in Pune and now we can have different feeds for not only Property Now, but also Times Now and ET Now,” informed Anand.

Distribution

The channel will be distributed across India with Male 25+ as the prime TG. It will also target females through
lifestyle content.

In terms of distribution, 1 million+ towns will be a priority
market. In fact, the channel is in the process of inking a
few carriage deals with MSOs. “We are targeting the ET
Now penetration. However, it will have a higher reach
because the subject is of greater interest,” he noted.
He also stated that Property Now will have a bigger reach than existing news channels but distribution will have a phased rollout.

We have already signed deals with a few multi system operators (MSOs) and we will be gradually present on all the platforms,” said Anand.

Times Network plans to back the channel digitally and will thus launch an app too.
According to Anand, over 60 per cent of the ad inventory
for the upcoming real estate channel has already been
sold.
