San Diego, California, January 18, 2013 /India PRwire/ -- Convergence India 2013 - Verimatrix, the specialist in securing and enhancing revenue for multi-network, multi-screen digital TV services around the globe, today announced that Aadhar Digital Vision Ltd. (ADV), a Chennai-based multi-system operator (MSO), is relying on the Verimatrix Video Content Authority System (VCAS™) architecture to provide revenue security for its new digital cable TV service. ADV is a large consortium of cable TV operators that is working to digitize sizeable pockets of Chennai, as well as other cities in Tamil Nadu.

"As we move into this exciting new digitalization era, we needed a partner that could provide us with a scalable revenue security solution that can grow as we add new services and content offerings," said P. Basker, managing director, ADV. "Verimatrix is an ideal partner for us as their VCAS solution not only exceeds our technology requirements, but also because its team of experts shares our commitment to customer service and innovation."

The consortium is relying on VCAS for DVB to secure its premium linear content library and associated revenue for broadcast services over its newly digitized cable network. The cardless conditional access solution enables ADV to combine standards-based and proven Digital Video Broadcast (DVB) technology for broadcast distribution with the interactivity of IP-based networks using a single security system.

ADV plans to provide nearly 500 digital quality channels to its subscribers via DVB-C set top boxes (STB). Deploying Verimatrix's proven cardless security solution within the STB offers ADV hardware-level security without the logistics associated with the management of physical cards. The solution is also extremely scalable, and will enable ADV to easily add both multi-screen and hybrid DVB-OTT services in the future.

"VCAS for DVB is an ideal foundation for ADV as they prepare for a multi-screen future," said Steve Oetegenn, chief sales and marketing officer, Verimatrix. "Our unique VCAS for DVB solution provides best-in-class conditional access for one-way networks, thereby helping ADV protect their existing network investments while they prepare for the future and create a competitive advantage."

Verimatrix is demonstrating its robust revenue security solutions at Convergence India 2013, 16-18 January in New Delhi. Visit booth #C-64 to learn how the VCAS architecture addresses current and future business and technical challenges. Verimatrix will also be hosting a Multi-network Solutions in the Real World Forum on 17 Jan. 2013 from 14:30 - 16:00 hours in Hall 18 on the Upper Floor. Refering post#77 from the thread https://dreamdth.com/community/threads/new-mso-in-chennai-to-challenge-the-monopoly.23764/ it seems TCCL is also using the same technology. Whether both TCCL and ADV are same?

Yes, they both also say to give 500 channels. Looks like same MSO with different names. May be to avoid the issue of Monopoly set by TRAI the cable operators have got 2 names for same MSO so one will take half of chennai and the other will take the rest. :huh:huh
