Thursday (August 18) was a memorable day for Superstar Rajinikanth, for it was on this day 36 years ago his debut film as an actor, K Balachander's 'Apoorva Raagangal', hit the screens.
According to sources close to the top actor, he would never forget this day and even yesterday he recalled it with his family members and went down the memory lane, sharing his experiences working for the film.
"It was on a Holi Day his mentor Balachander changed his name from Sivaji Rao to Rajinikanth. Three days after the Independence Day that year (1975), Apoorva Raagangal was released, launching a legend to Kollywood," they add.
Meanwhile, work is on at a full swing for the Superstar's forthcoming film 'Rana', which hit a roadblock after he was hospitalized due to kidney-related ailment. "Rajini is completely fine now and he will start shooting for the film from the first week of October."
