MUMBAI: It was a year ago that Times Television Network launched its hybrid channel Romedy Now to uphold the emotions of love and laughter.
To celebrate its first birthday, the channel has lined up a series of initiatives.
On 22 September there will be a contest where viewers can answer a question and win an iPhone 6.
More surprises lie in store for the fans across the channel’s Facebook and Twitter pages.
As part of the celebrations, Romedy Now will also release a music video, ‘Have a Romedy’, which follows the relationship of a boy and girl touching on those precious moments like their first date or first party and finally culminating with a romantic, surprise proposal.
Times Television Network English entertainment channels cluster head marketing Shantanu Gangane said, “Romedy Now caters to the fundamental human emotions of love and laughter.
We are overwhelmed that this philosophy of the brand is well accepted by our viewers and fans.
We are celebrating the spirit of Romedy and we invite our viewers to join in the celebrations with us on 22nd September.”
Series that air on Romedy Now include ‘F.R.I.E.N.D.S’, ‘Jake in Progress’ and ‘Traffic Light’.
It is also doing a ‘Romedy Celebrations’ initiative this month.
Films air from Monday to Wednesday at 9 pm like ‘America’s Sweethearts’, ‘The Notebook’ and ‘Crazy, Stupid, Love’.
‘Happy Journey’ is another initiative that airs on Fridays at 11 pm. From the winding streets of Italy in ‘Letters to Juliet’ to the bustling romantic city of Paris in ‘Monte Carlo’ to the gorgeous snow-covered Alps in ‘Chalet Girl’, Romedy Now takes viewers to different destinations.
The broadcaster is also focusing on the early-evening slot.
Movies like ‘Valentine’s Day’, ‘New Year’s Eve’ and ‘Moulin Rouge’ air as part of ‘Sundown Café’ every Thursday at 6 pm.
