Russian satellite company Gazprom Satellite Systems is facing technical problems on its Yamal-201 satellite, reports Tdaily. Transponders were switched off on 5 June, and telecommunications and TV networks using the satellite have stopped. Part of the Yamal-201 workload has been temporarily switched to the Yamal-300K satellite working on the same orbital position. Yamal-201 was launched in 2003, with plans to work until 2015. The satellite includes nine transponders working on the C-band and six transponders working on the Ku-band. Yamal-300K was launched in November 2012.
