MUMBAI: Sab is introducing original content in the afternoon slot with the launch of Happy Housewives Club (HHC) on 4 July.
The family comedy entertainment channel, which occupies fifth position among the Hindi general entertainment channels (GECs), airs repeats in the afternoon time band.
The daily show, which will occupy the 1.30 pm slot from Monday-Friday, will be targeted at the housewives. It will see women meet their friends, unwind, socialise, have fun and showcase their talent through the channel.
The initiative aims to expand the Sab family and extend its core values like positive thinking, driving core family positive values, being happy and optimistic.
Presently, there are more than 250 HHC across 40 cities and the number will keep growing.
The initiative will see home-makers come out of their mould and showcase their talent. It will encourage them to pursue other things apart from their role in the family, making them satisfied.
Sab executive VP and business head Anooj Kapoor said, “We offer light hearted content on our channel that the entire family watches together and brings smiles to the viewer’s lives. With our initiative of launching Happy Housewives Club, we are giving a platform to the housewives across India to showcase their hidden talent and make them and their families proud of what they are actually capable of achieving by recognizing their true potential.”
The show is being produced by Deepti Bhatnagar Productions.
Bhatnagar said, “The idea behind the show was simple. Connect with women from across the country with something that binds them all together. Happy Housewives Club is an initiative for the housewives, by the housewives.”
