Earlier TV18 had plans to launch HomeShop18 Gold but a merger of theirs with Shop CJ happened thus giving TV18 majority stake of 74% in new entity and shelving of the earlier plan.

Already they had said that prime focus was to scale up TV Shopping business while mounting down on digital/online part of it. GST /Demonitization impacted sales but still combined entity gave them force to leverage resources.

Now if they r shutting down Shop CJ , this means returns have not been on expected lines. Also maybe Shop CJ itself is exiting India. Later on TV18 might launch new teleshopping channel based on market demand or functioning.
