MUMBAI: The All Sikkim Cable Operators’
Association (ASCOA) has threatened to switch
off channels distributed by Taj Television from 5
November to protest against the subscription fee
hike.
In a letter to Taj Television’s regional manager in
Kolkata, ASCOA president Roshan Rai said that it
was an uphill task for cable operators to pay the
high subscription fee demanded due to intense
competition from direct-to-home (DTH)
operators.
Rai also urged Taj to slash subscription fees
payable by the cable operators to the
broadcaster by 50 per cent.
