SET, one of the premier South Asian television channels in the Middle East, continues to be a market leader and has now bagged the Best Television Channel, Viewers Choice Award at the Masala Awards 2012 in the Middle East for the third consecutive year. As per the latest Middle East TV VIEW report, SET is the leading Hindi GEC, with programs like Bade Ache Lagte Hai and KBC keeping viewers glued to their screens.

The Middle East is one of the most concentrated NRI markets in the world. The official 2010 census put the number at a startling 5 million strong. As such it is as important a hub to advertisers as any city in India.

Said Prasad Amin, Vice President, IAS Media, “We are very pleased to receive this award. It’s nice to see continued support for Sony amongst its Middle East viewers for the third year running. We humbly hope that we can continue to live upto to the expectation of our viewers.”

Echoing the thought, said Jenish Shah VP International Sales, Primetime (who have been handling Sony’s International sales for the last 10 years), “it is heartening to know that Sony enjoys this premier position in the hearts and minds of viewers even in the middle east. In a market that is still establishing Television measurement systems this is a clear indication of Sony’s premier position.”

Sony Entertainment Network has two channels in the Middle East - Sony Entertainment Television which is the main GEC channel and SET MAX which is the premier movie channel.
