MUMBAI: Sony Pictures Networks India (SPNI) will premiere ESPN Films documentary ‘Nature Boy’ on 26 January. The documentary is based on the 16-time WWE World Heavyweight Champion Ric Flair.
‘Nature Boy’ will be aired on Sony ESPN and Sony ESPN HD channels on 26 January at 9 pm, Sony Ten 1 and Sony Ten 1 HD on 27 January at 10 pm and Sony Six and Sony Six HD on 28 January at 6 pm.
Director Rory Karpf will take an inside look at Flair’s story, including his triumphs, his tragedies, and his pivotal role in turning pro wrestling into mainstream sports entertainment.
‘Nature Boy’ features two in-depth conversations between Karpf and Flair over a 16-month span, surrounded by interviews with those closest to the man himself including Triple H, Hulk Hogan, Ricky Steamboat, Baby Doll, Tully Blanchard, The Undertaker, Arn Anderson, Shawn Michaels, Sting and Road Warrior Animal as well as his first wife, Leslie Jacobs, and children along with others who know Flair best.
Sony Pictures Network president distribution, sports business Rajesh Kaul said, “Offering a diverse range of content across genres is central to our sports network’s philosophy. The range of ESPN documentaries showcased on our network chronicles inspiring moments from the world of sport that appeals to our viewers. As we set out to engage the milieu in a multi-sport viewership culture, it is pivotal to showcase the inspirational stories of sports stars and legends.”
