MUMBAI: Aiming to go beyond what is ordinary and create a unique space for movie buffs and critics, Star Movies’ ‘Secret
Screening’ initiative is growing from strength to strength.
The channel said that as the leader
in the category it is expected to not just match the standards, but to set them.
On the evening of 17 October, about 100 movie fans gathered at Lightbox in Mumbai to find out what it means to be a ‘Star Movies Secret Keeper’.
Spotted among the fans were Ayan Mukherji and Kiran Rao.
This time, the movie screened was American mystery film, ‘Gone Girl’, directed by David Fincher and adapted by Gillian Flynn from her 2012 novel of the same name.
It was an exclusive closed-door movie screening that gave the participating ‘secret keepers’ a rare opportunity to watch the masterpiece two weeks before its India release.
‘Gone Girl’, starring Ben Affleck, Rosamund Pike, Neil Patrick Harris and Tyler Perry, examines dishonesty, the media, the economy’s effects on marriage and appearances.
