Chennai : The leading Tamil Satellite Channel Sun TV has announced the third edition of Sun Kudumbam awards for the year 2014, which is conducted every year in recognition of all the hardwork their content producers and various talents have put in the channels programs.
The event will celebrate and honour all those who have excelled and stood out for their creativity with their spell bounding performance in Sun TV's programming line-up.
The award actually means the Sun family awards titled in Tamil as "Sun Kudumbam Virudugal" which denotes the family of Programs being aired on Sun TV.
The award category has performance related acknowledgement for artists playing different type of characters in various fiction shows and Technical category that comprises technicians like Directors, Camera Man, Script Writers, Musicians, Editors and Sound Engineers.
The channel has charted out a list of 26 different awards that will be distributed for various talents of top rated Programs that are being aired on Sun TV.
A special invite is being placed to all its program producers and business associates.
The nominations from all the fiction shows will be placed before a team of qualified Jury members and the best performance in each category will be judged by the Jury team.
During their previous editions Sun TV opted for SMS voting from the viewers. However, this time the channel has changed its selection process.
Market sources report that the change is due to the imposition of ad-cap restrictions.
The Ground event of the Award function is expected to be a start studded event with the participation of TV and Film artists with slew of stage performance by various film and television artist.
The award ceremony is scheduled to be held on 11th of October at the Confluence Convention Centre in Chennai.
The televised event is expected to be aired during succeeding Diwali festival in 3rd week of October.
