Sun TV Network, India's leading regional broadcaster, is launching Kochu TV, a Malayalam kids channel, on 16 October.
Kochu TV will target the younger audience in the age group of 4-14 years.
Sun TV Network said that it will be the first and only of its kind 24-hour kids channel in Malayalam. It will have regional and international flavour.
Indiantelevision.com was the first to report that Sun was planning to launch 5-6 channels this fiscal including a Malayalam kids channel.
The programming on the channel will include cartoons like Jackie Chan Adventures, He-Man and pre-school content.
"The programmes are designed to engage and stimulate the kid's imagination during the early formative age," Sun said.
