MUMBAI: Sun TV is all set to air the third edition of its popular television awards show ‘Sun Kudumbam Viruthugal’, held to honour the artists from the Southern TV industry.

The show will be telecast on 30 November, and next Sunday on 7 December. It will be telecast in two parts, with Part I airing 6 pm onwards on Sun TV this Sunday, and Part II on 7 December at the same time.

‘Sun Kudumbam Viruthugal’ was started as an initiative to encourage and recognize small screen talent. The event also celebrates and honours the channel’s fiction team for their excellence in television.

The awards are in 26 major categories, with four nominations each in various categories for the artists and technicians. Some of the unique category of awards includes Best Father award, Best Mother-in-law award, Best Sister award, Best Couple award and Best dubbing artist (male, female).

Sun TV has also initiated special categories awarding key people who have had long standing relationship and are considered as pillars of Sun Kudumbam.

The ceremony will also see glitzy dance, music and skit performances by prominent actors from the film industry in both the episodes.

Tamil film industry actors including Andrea, Mirchi Shiva, Sanchita Shetty, Raai Laxmi, Pooja, Visakha Singh and more will dazzle on stage with specially choreographed performances for the show. A comedy skit planned with two acts will be performed by actors Manobala, Nalini, Madhumita and Madurai Muthu.

The show will be anchored by Deepak and Aishwarya.
As part of the pre event celebration, each serial family picked a team and challenged them to plant a coconut tree in an effort to promote a meaningful cause and spread awareness among the audience to enhance the green cover in the city.

The audience has been privy to the excitement leading to the show through Facebook feeds, interactions and pre-event episodes telecast in the last three Sundays. These included behind-the-scenes footage, trivia sharing, rehearsals of the performances, interviews of the nominees and more.

→ Chennai : Sun TV is all set to air the televised event of third edition of its television awards titled "Sun Kudumbam Viruthugal" for the year 2014.

Earlier tvnews4u.com reported during the 1st week October on the grand gala ground event held on 11th October 2014 in Chennai at Confluence Convention Centre.

The televised event was scheduled to be aired as two parts wherein the Part I of the awards night to be telecast this Sunday Nov 30th 2014 from 6.00 PM onwards and Part II by the succeeding Sunday Dec 7th 2014 in the same time band.

The annual television award in lines of 'Parivaar awards' of Star Plus and Zee TV was started as an initiative to encourage and recognize talent in the small screen arena.

The channel sources confirm that the show has garnered a great deal of participation both from the loyal audience watching the top-rated soaps and the various artists playing diverse roles in different serials of the channel.

Besides the artists in front of the camera, this event celebrates and honours the channel’s formidable fiction Producers and Technicians for their excellence in various sections of television.

As reported earlier Sun Kudumbam awards consists of 26 major categories with 4 nominations each in various categories for the artists and technicians.

The successful winners of these categories will be revealed during the telecast and the audiences can look forward to some stunning dance, music and skit performances by prominent actors from the film industry in both the episodes.

This is one among the award shows that honours small screen actors in the South such a big way and covers unique categories such as Best Father award, Best Mother-in-law award, Best Sister award, Best Couple award, Best dubbing artist (male,female) etc.

Sun TV has roped in NAC Jewellery and Dabur Meshwak as the main sponsors of the event.
