The Telecom Disputes Settlement & Appellate Tribunal (TDSAT) has adjourned the Amritsar Cable TV Operators Sangarsh Committee and Malwa Cable Operator Sangarsh Committee versus Fastway Transmission matter till 13 May as the two new respondents in the matter have sought more time to file their replies. Headend-in-the-sky (HITS) operator Noida Software Technology Park Ltd (NSTPL) and multi-system operator (MSO) Delhi Cable Network requested for more time to file replies.
NSTPL (JAINHITS) and Delhi Cable Network were represented through Joby P Varghese and Sandeep Arya respectively, while TRAI was represented by Prashant Bezboruah.
Moreover, the tribunal has asked the two respondents to send an advance copy of the replies to petitioners’ Dinesh Rawat and Amicus Curiae in the case Abhishek Malhotra by 11 May.
In the previous hearing on 23 April, the tribunal had impleaded NSTPL and Delhi Cable Network for verifying the circumstances under which they started their operations in Amritsar and the rates and terms on which the HITS operator is supplying its signals to cable operators there.
This was also to ascertain why it should not be directed to supply its signals at the same rates and on the same terms to the petitioner LCOs.
