MUMBAI: The Telangana Cable Operators Federation (TCOF) has moved the Telecom Disputes Settlement and Appellate Tribunal (TDSAT) against multi-system operator (MSO) IndusInd Media and Communications Ltd (IMCL) for unauthorised deactivation of Star India channels.
It is pertinent to note that MSOs are carrying Star channels based on reference interconnect offer (RIO) in digital addressable system (DAS) areas from 10 November 2014.
The federation’s grievance letter to the tribunal has been treated as a petition.
The tribunal has requested Advocate Vadivellu Deenadayalan to assist it on behalf of the federation as amicus curiae.
TCOF president U Ramesh and member RD Damodharan will brief Deenadayalan to help him file an appropriate petition on behalf of the federation.
The matter has been put up for hearing on 19 March to enable IMCL counsel Vandana Jaisingh to take proper instructions in the matter
