Mumbai: The second season of the inspiring Television series The Power of Shunya: Quest
for Zero, in its quest to explore inventive modern day solutions and establish the fact that science-driven solutions can tackle some
of the critical challenges facing India, showcased some brilliant innovations addressing challenges like Pollution, Healthcare
and Education.
Agriculture has been engrained in our history for over 10 thousand years now. India is the second largest producer of wheat, rice, and
sugarcane. However, 27% of the world’s underfed and undernourished people live in
India (UN fact). Urbanization, population increase, and income growth is driving the demand for food, while lack of available
information, stress on natural resources and climate change is increasingly constraining supply. Episode 4 of the Quest for Zero
promises to outline the need for innovation in the agricultural sector to hold a balance between the demand and supply, in order to transform India’s agricultural sector.
