I was fed up with D2H's pathetic CCare and their good for nothing telemarketing - and their even crappy TOS. So I finally decided to scrap my STB in favour of a more "sane" operator who does not bother you thrice daily with "exciting offers" (inspite of the fact that I had a Gold (or whatever it's called) pack; paid for 12 months).
WHen I was going to dispose the STB , my neighbour asked me if I would mind giving the STB (since he is disgusted with DishTV's similar state of affairs).
The question is - is such a transfer plausible? If so what should be done. If not for the neighbour - I would not have bothered you'll. The reason why I am asking is - even if the brain-dead co. does not allow this - it's just across the door - but the STB is tied to a phone number I have long discarded and I've forgotten my ex-Customer-id (How will my neighbour contact customer service / recharge?).
