Well, latest report suggests the same. Report has it that the show which is still fresh in the minds of the audience even after two decades will mark a comeback on TV screen but with a new cast. The show which originally aired on DD Metro in 1994 and later on Star Plus, will air on Star Bharat this time.

"Star Bharat is revamping his shows completely and will be coming up with some new shows focusing majorly on comedy genre. And the popular sitcom which has created a benchmark 'Tu Tu Main Main' they are planning to bring back. Things are yet to get finalised and discussions are at the initial stage.”

Interestingly, I remember seeing the original series when it was telecast on Star India Plus (e.g., the US feed of Star Plus) in 2005.

Star India Plus, Star India News, and Star India One had just launched in 2004 exclusively on the DirecTV DTH service, all of which were owned at the time by News Corporation. The 3 channels were considered premium (e.g., they contained only promos for Star TV programs during ad breaks), and were available as part of DirecTV's HindiDirect service for a monthly cost of $30 per month (about ₹1300/mo at the time). At the same time, the rival Dish Network DTH service had their Hindi Mega Pack for $50 per month (₹2200/mo) and contained 5 channels: Sony Entertainment Television Asia, Zee TV, Zee Cinema, B4U and TV Asia.

Star India channels remained exclusive to DirecTV until 2008, after which they joined Dish Network and other cable platforms. In 2013, Dish Network became the exclusive DTH provider for Star channels and Star India Plus HD was launched. In 2019, Star shut down all its channels in North America, and now their Indian content can only be accessed via Hotstar for $50 per year (₹3750/year).

In a recent interview, Sachin said he is already working on bringing Tu Tu Main Main back, and spoke about actor-wife Supriya Pilgaonkar’s character in the upcoming show. “We’re planning on bringing the show back. We’re already working on it. Supriya won’t be the daughter-in-law anymore but the mother-in-law,” Sachin told a leading daily.

Seems Tu Tu Main Main will be for OTT this time as Telivision rating are not worthy for such shows. This will open path for shows like Office Office, Khichdi, Sarabhai vs Sarabhai on OTT. Although, Sarabhai vs Sarabhai Take 2 already stream on Hotstar.

i feel these shows still hold that niche and old school factor and audience will love these shows too watch on tv... shows like Wagle and pushpa impossible may not have numbers to shpw but they are really working well for sab and it can be seen sab being number 1 channel in Gujrat. Star can launch tu tu main main, sarabhai vs sarabhai or khichdi on Star bharat and rename the channel and create a niche channel...

Star only wants permanent audience who watch what they are serving. Although, they have so much vacant slots they can easily provide online shows on Star Bharat but they don't.
