The television news scene in Odisha has hotted up with Kalinga TV, a 24×7 news channel owned by Kalinga Media Entertainment Private Limited, being launched by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Saturday evening.
Inaugurating the channel, Patnaik said the popularity of television news channels is growing day by day. “Media is the mirror of society. The Government knows the problems of people through media, which helps government to solve the needs of public,” he said.
Expressing his happiness over the launching of the new channel, the Chief Minister hope that Kalinga TV will help fulfil the hopes and aspirations of Odia people.
Inaugurating the website of Kalinga TV, Health and Family Welfare and Information & Public Relations minister Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak said media has a vital role to play in building a healthy society. “News channels and print media should avoid negativity and should present the fact in an unbiased way. Kalinga TV can be popular among Odia people, if it follows this way,” he said.
