British commercial radio operator Global Radio is launching two new music channels in the UK.
The company, which operates radio stations including LBC and Classic FM, is launching channels based around its Heart and Capital brands. The channels will be available via satellite pay TV service Sky and free-to-air satellite platform Freesat in September. The channels will be part of a new Global Television division, run by Global founder Ashley Tabor.
“Global prides itself on clear, simple brand propositions for its consumers. Brand extension is a natural thing for us to do, for example online, mobile and live events, so I’m delighted we’re now bringing both Heart and Capital’s top-class brand quality to music television,” said Tabor.
