MUMBAI: Viacom18 Motion Pictures has launched special marketing activities in line with the quirky storyline of its upcoming social satire ‘Dharam Sankat Mein’, which is set to release on 13 March.
The movie will see Neel bhakt Paresh Rawal follow the cool Neelanand Baba Naseeruddin Shah. Also starring Annu Kapoor, the movie will have Dharampal being forced to follow the hilarious Neelanand Baba and his quirky Neel eccentricities.
Taking a leaf from Neelanand Baba’s book and his ‘Neel’ eccentricities, the makers of the film have launched a ‘Neel Dharam’ making it a 360-degree marketing tool.
Viacom18 Motion Pictures VP marketing Rudrarup Datta said, “’Dharam Sankat Mein’ is one of the funniest social satires this year.
We wanted to create a quirky marketing campaign that is out of the box and yet one that reflects the wit in the film. Neelanand Baba and his in-your-face hilarious antics are sure to get your attention.
Make sure you check out the coolest Dharam in town.” The film’s Facebook page offers the countdown to the Neel Satsang, excerpts from the Neel Granth, a video that demonstrates the Neel Pranam, and a groovy Neel anthem.
The anthem will play out on key radio channels. Besides, in select multiplexes, audiences could subscribe to become Neel bhakts.
Cyclists on their Neel vahaans wearing Neel (blue) robes were spotted in various localities of the city, evangelising the commandments of the new-age spiritual path with a life-size cut-out of Neelanad Baba.
The activation is being conducted in 50 locations across five metros over a span of 10 days. Also produced by Sajjad Chunawala and Shariq Patel of Trigno Media, ‘Dharam Sankat Mein’ is directed by Fuwad Khan.
