Videocon RF Remote Range

One of my friend is going to buy Videocon D2h. But he has a strange thing to know first. Thats why i am asking it to the experts. He lives in 2nd floor of this building, His STB and TV is their. But directly above his room in the 3rd floor he has his projector setup. So he want to know that (he can connect the projector with d2h STB with 10 meter HDMI) does videocon remote works from 3rd floor to 2nd floor STB? You can assume that direct distance of STB and remote will be 10 feet (highest) with one floor to get through.

I think i represent the scenario to you. Anyone with practical experience of doing it? Or can you please test it for me?
