When I was kid. TV use to have show like MAD, FAQ, Bournvita Quiz Contest, KBC Junior. Even Nat Geo had educational and factual based shows. Today while watching an Assamese news channel Pratidin Time. I saw they were doing a 3 hour block called "Pratidin Pathsala" an educated show meant for board exam students to help them study during lockdown.

So I was wondering. What are big networks contributing towards bringing up the new generation? Anyone could collaborate with Topper, Byju etc. to offer educational shows? It's just sad that no networks care about the educational genre anymore.

I know DD Gyan Darshan is there but it is so unappealing.

Bro, I will be practical here.

As this content is not made anymore It's clear that such content doesn't get expected response on TV. Even ZEE had a complete channel for edutainment genre 'ZEEQ'. But due to less response they got some typical animated shows but even that didn't do well for them so they had to make channel digital only. ZEE TV currently has a show called Mind wars on sunday 10 AM.

We can't just blame broadcasters for this. Most of kids are only interested in watching Motu Patlu,Doraemon or Shinchan.

Also, in digital age who will watch some niche scheduled show?

I like educational shows too. That's why we love Sourav Ganguly's Zee Bangla Dadagiri, Amitabh Bachchan's KBC. But no quiz shows for kids. ABP Ananda has a show for school kids (Sunday maybe) which is hosted by Parambrata Chattopadhyay..

India Today had some quiz today. But it had minimum promotion. So it got. Only Discovery is offering something useful with Spelling Bee. But no quiz shows.
