Unlimited recording implies that customer can use multiple external storage devices like USB / External Hard disk to create his own library. Rs 3090 is the cost of HD Digital Set top box with hard ware capable of recording. Some channels / features / prices /services can be added / deleted/ modified without any prior notice. Customer needs to activate the recording facility at a once time cost of Rs. 199/-, the monthly subscription cost to avail recording feature is Rs. 30 per month. Customer need to purchase the external storage devices for storing the recorded content. Image of the product shown is for illustration purpose only and may differ from the actual product that the customer may get. Customer also needs to subscribe to any of the SD or HD packages apart from the recording feature monthly to view the channels available without any interruption

Now we move to the detail

Cost of 2222 box under exchange with recording activation=2199 Rs.
External HDD for recording (1TB) ~ 4920Rs
Total cost =7119 Rs.

*Now the cost we pay for both hd dvr and 2222 box are almost same

Consider we use the packs in 2222 ,

Gold Sports HD/ South Gold Sports HD Pack, Gold Entertainment HD Pack, Gold HD/ South Gold HD Pack, New Diamond/ New South Diamond, Platinum / South Platinum Pack, Platinum HD/ South Platinum HD

*Now the cost of running is same for both hd dvr and 2222 .


2222 box limitations:
Single tuner STB where as in hd dvr its double tuner

I agree with you...But I think d2h should give the rec service in 2222 box as free...so that they will get more customers upgrading to 2222 box from sd ....and 80% of them stick on hd packs...then why they need this 30 rs /month?...
D2h should free customers of at least 2222box+hd packs from this charge.

I got my 2222 box in exchange for my zapper almost for free. But now they are charging Rs. 2199/- which is no good as you also pay monthly Rs. 30/- recording fee.

They should charge Rs. 10/- monthly recording fee only for 2222 customers.
