Sony will try to buy AEW's broadcasting right so it will be a win win situation for both. AEW will reach out to even larger audience than before in India. While the general audience who just watch wrestling matches inferior to the storyline won't care much if AEW replaces WWE.

Yes I think majority of wrestling viewers watch it just for entertainment especially kids they're not invested in the storyline and characters like fans in US or UK.

Slowly streaming platforms capturing sports market after movies.
I believe in next 5 years, except bcci/ipl rights, everything will be in netfli/prime

I don't think anyone buy BCCI/IPL, ICC rights even Ambani, in next 5 years. Netflix, Amazon, Apple, Meta just throw a small piece of money. It's enough for BCCI, IPL, ICC if they go for worldwide rights.

These players only interested in world wide rights
In these type of acquisition profit chances r increasing

I think AEW has more dynamic and extreme matches than WWE. So who knows people can find it more interesting than WWE although AEW isn't even half of what WWE is overall. But for sure WWE is going to lose a lot of viewership in India considering it is their biggest asset after US,UK.

Most people consume WWE on youtube than on Sony's tv and streaming channels.

There are reports that WWE may end its 32-year TV broadcast partnership after receiving a $5 billion streaming offer from Netflix. Is this true?
