Sony creates 7-pm slot for ‘Yeh Moh Moh Ke Dhaage’

Hindi GEC Sony Entertainment Television (SET) has created a 7-pm prime-time slot for its new show ‘Yeh Moh Moh Ke Dhaage’. The Monday–Friday romantic drama will be launched on 21 March.

SET will also launch a non-fiction show, ‘Sabse Bada Kalakar’, on 8 April, which will air every Saturday and Sunday at 8 pm. The show will replace the channel’s popular singing reality show ‘Indian Idol 9’. The channel has reserved its 8-pm weekend slot for talent-focused shows.

The launch of ‘Yeh Moh Moh Ke Dhaage’ is part of the channel’s strategy to ramp up weekday programming with some differentiated content. SET recently announced its plan to create a 6-pm slot by the first half of 2017. With this early prime-time band, the channel plans to focus on smaller towns and target family audiences.

Produced by Rahul Tewary, ‘Yeh Moh Moh Ke Dhaage’ is a love story set against the village backdrop of Gujarat. The show features Benaf Dadachandji, Eijaz Khan and Niyati Fatnani. The show will mark Dadachandji’s and Khan’s comeback on television. Khan plays the main lead of Raidhan Raj Katara, the head of the Amboli village in Kutch.

The story revolves around Dadachandji and Khan, who are childhood lovers but cannot get married due to circumstances. Later, Khan marries Fatnani but Dadachandji comes back to his life to destroy the marriage. Dadachandji will be seen in a negative role in this show.

‘Sabse Bada Kalakar’, the upcoming reality show for kids, will not only judge individual skills but also look for the overall entertainment quotient. The show aims to find a kid who has the potential to have a future in acting. Kids from the age group of 4–12 years can participate either solo or in groups.

‘Sabse Bada Kalakar’ will be judged by Bollywood actors Raveena Tandon and Arshad Warsi. It will mark Tandon’s debut on TV.
