MUMBAI: As a tribute to the comic legends of Bollywood, Zee Cinema is coming up with a Double Dhamal Nite- a tribute to the comic to be aired on 18 June at 8 pm. This would be for the first time on television, when stalwarts of Bollywood would be honoured for their contribution as comedians to the world of cinema.
Fun, laugh-out-loud moments and some crazy dancing is what would be dished out by the ensemble cast of Double Dhamal who will perform on stage.
Zee Cinema is pulling out all stops to make the event an evening to remember what with the stars of Double Dhamaal taking on the stage along with popular television actors like Ragini Khanna, Jay Soni, Mahi Vij, Jay Bhanushali, Shabbir Alhuwalia and the five best performers of 'Dance India Dance' Dharmesh 'Sir', Prince, Siddhesh, Mayuresh and Parvez.
Said Zee Cinema business head Mohan Gopinath, "We are delighted to be hosting this event as a run up to the launch of Double Dhamaal. The film embodies the philosophy of Zee Cinema. The Double Dhamaal franchise certainly brings out the masti and magic that we, as a channel, aim to give our viewers.
We are looking to celebrate all those 'dhamaal' moments that every individual has in his/her lifetime...first love, getting married, etc. With laughter forming such a crucial part of our favourite Bollywood films, it is fitting that we recognise the contribution of the well-known actors at our celebration of an evening of comedy."
The evening, that will see everything from stand-up comedy to dance and drama will see renowned actors like Kader Khan, Jagdeep, Shakti Kapoor, Johnny Lever among others who will be felicitated.
