MUMBAI: Following in the footsteps
of other Hindi general entertainment
channels, Zee TV is also extending its
weekday early primetime slot from 7
to 8 pm to Saturday. The move is
cited as a strategy to increase
sampling.
The week starting 26 January will see
the 7 pm show ‘Bandhan’ being
extended till Saturday. Meanwhile,
the 7.30 pm slot will be filled by a
new launch ‘Hello Pratibha’ from 27
January, which will have a Monday to
Saturday airing, replacing ‘Sapne
Suhane Ladakpan Ke’.
Zee TV
programming head Namit Sharma
said the opportunity for this move
arose when two of its shows were
going off air. Besides ‘Sapne…’, Zee
TV’s fantasy series ‘Maharakshak
Aryan’ too is nearing its end.
The 13-week series will culminate
within a week and will move to a new
time slot for the last week of its
airing. The second story in the trilogy
is slated to commence within 4–5
weeks.
