Tata Play adds 8 Doordarshan channels from various states

In an effort to expand their visibility, leading DTH platform Tata Play has added 8 regional Doordarshan SD channels from various states including Haryana, Uttarakhand, Himachal, and many more. Out of 8 channels, 2 were added on 20^th November 2023 at 4:15 PM and the other 6 channels were added on 21st November 2023 at 4:45 PM respectively. Tata Play always adds new channels at 10 AM in the morning but this time they added during the evening hours.

Before this, Tata Play has added 7 HD channels and 1 SD channel from several broadcasters which was a very great and appreciable move for the year 2023. A handful of more HD and SD channels are expected to be added in the upcoming weeks from other broadcasters. All the newly added Doordarshan channels are now a part of DD pack so that every Tata Play subscriber can watch these channels for free of cost.

This was a very much needed addition from Tata Play as they were lacking behind in terms of Doordarshan channels. It is a small but important step in ensuring the visibility of the DTH company.

List of channels still missing from Tata Play

There are many channels that are still not added by Tata Play. The channels are mainly HD ones. Although, Sony Sports Ten 4 HD was added with DD Sports HD, but sadly it was removed immediately due to LCN issues and mismanagement. Sony Sports Ten 4 HD was expected to re-add in some time but there are no updates regarding this from Tata Play itself. The list also includes Regional HD channels.

With the GSAT-24 migration process, Tata Play is anticipated to include the remaining pending channels. When the channels get added, Tata Play will be the paramount DTH operator in the country, thrashing all other operators behind in terms of both quality and channels availability.
