Direct-to-home (DTH) operator Tata Play has done a phenomenal job by adding 3 HD and 2 SD channels on 30th April 2024. These channels were the most demanded channels of all time by their subscribers. The 3 HD channels are from ETV Network and 2 SD channels are news channels. Before this, Tata Play surprised its subscribers by adding 7 HD and 1 SD channel on 31st October 2023. This was the 2023’s biggest addition.
Starting with HD, the 3 channels are ETV Plus HD, ETV Cinema HD, and ETV Bal Bharat HD. After Cartoon Network HD+ and Disney Channel HD, ETV Bal Bharat HD becomes the 3rd channel to broadcast famous cartoons and animes in HD and more than 10 different languages. ETV Plus HD is a Telugu general entertainment channel that airs mostly comedy-centric shows the whole day. ETV Cinema HD is a Telugu movie channel offering blockbusters and evergreen films. ETV Plus HD is available on LCN 1416, ETV Cinema HD on LCN 1439, and ETV Bal Bharat HD on LCN 679. The price of ETV Plus HD is Rs. 16 per month, ETV Cinema HD is priced at Rs. 19 per month and ETV Bal Bharat HD at Rs. 6 per month.
The 2 new SD channels added by Tata Play are Naxatra News and NDTV Marathi. Naxatra News is a 24×7 Hindi news channel with a unique lineup of shows along with current affairs. NDTV Marathi is a new Marathi regional news channel launched by Adani Group on 1st May 2024. Tata Play has alloted LCN 1142 to Naxatra News and LCN 1268 to NDTV Marathi. Naxatra News and NDTV Marathi are available for free and have also been added to the FTA Complimentary Pack which means that both channels will get automatically subscribed for the user.
These channel additions were the most significant for the growth of Tata Play in the Telugu regional market and this bumper addition of both HD and SD channels are exclusive only to Tata Play and no other DTH operator currently carries these channels on their platform. After the addition of DD Tamil HD, Tarang HD, and Sun Neo HD, Tata Play will be the Direct-to-home operator to carry all HD satellite channels in India.
