The XStream Box - 004 variant manufactured by Vanitiva and Arris look exactly similar to Airtel IPTV STB ..... Maybe Specifications r also same and hence of that is the case then maybe they will now provide Smart Android Box to users only under a single category "IPTV STB" instead of keeping it separate.....

Also since last 2 days unable to add any chs via Add Channels option (For Unsubscribed Channels) available on screen of XStream STB so it also seems they r changing the Top Up Codes or making other backend changes for various channels in their database/system as in April most likely New RIO agreement will be implemented alongwith implementation of 4 Digit LCN system ..... Could be that after this Tata Play and Airtel Digital TV/ IPTV would have same LCN Rearrangement

So I think my assessment was right , now Airtel seems to planning to provide Smart Boxes under IPTV Category and thereby trying to combine it with Airtel Wi-Fi as part of Airtel Black plans while planning to slowly phase out XStream DTH Branding , again just the branding for Smart Boxes bot the service itself, they r calling New Product as Airtel Digital IPTV in banners ads running on LCN 545 .....

Essentially both r same however it will be intersting to see if the IPTV boxes r interoperable to be used to receive DTH signals too for watching chs if someone already has Wi-Fi from another operator and does not opt for Airtel Wi-Fi but just wants box and even receive chs IPTV via IPTV if one opts for Airtel Wi-Fi as part of Airtel Black combo plans

IPTV offers lot more bandwidth to add chs as well host range of interactive services and features which has limitations incase of DTH Transmission so if this indeed happens and already lot of existing Airtel Digital TV customers r migrating to Airtel IPTV then it will be a game changer and bring New Era of Streaming Entertainment on TV
